When you lose your way and stop to ask for directions. You politely ask a stranger for directions. You don’t ask them their cast, creed, religion or last name. You don’t ask them what they ate for breakfast, or where they’re going. You ask them for directions, because you are lost. Because your primary priority is to find your way. Not the nationality, ethnicity, or morality of the person who the universe planted there at that time to be your savior. A complete stranger who you would not have otherwise spoken to or reached out to becomes the reason you find your way and gives you the confidence you need to move forward.
Well look around! You’re lost! And this is not the time to ask questions. This is not the time to seek out reasons for discrimination! This is the time to seek out the right direction! You will NEVER get home if you keep asking the wrong questions from all the people you come across when you are lost. You need to find your way home.
You’ve been lost for so long that you’ve lost faith in yourself. You’ve been lost for so long that you are more scared of moving than you are of moving in the wrong direction! You are so afraid of pain that you don’t give yourself the margin to exercise your potential. You think that every step you take has to be in the right direction. Well it doesn’t!
Ten years ago you thought you’d never live long enough to last ten years, but here you are! And yet you still don’t care about where you will be ten years later! You think that what you do today and tomorrow won’t have an impact on your life ten years from today. It does not work that way!
You don’t get up to plan for ten years into the future! You get up today so that you can look back to this day ten years from now, and know that you got up and did something. You get up today so that every yesterday becomes better until a single and seemingly unimportant day ten years in the past doesn’t look the same as it does today!
Nobody ever made it right the first time or the second time or the hundredth time! People have only managed to get where they shine by trying again and again and again! And if you have to ask somebody for directions on the way so be it! If you have to reach out and let somebody guide you then so be it! Let somebody guide you today so that you can guide somebody tomorrow! So stop asking the wrong questions, and start asking the right questions. Stop committing the same mistake you’ve been making through the last decade.
Start making the right mistakes by attempting to start. There is no right time to start asking for help and to start looking around. The armor you built to protect yourself is weighing you down! Shed your armor and let the blood run through your veins again. Look around, ask for help, ask for directions, and take a step forward, knowing that you become a new individual with every step. That you leave more and more of your past behind with every step you take.
Work today to make sure that yesterday looks better tomorrow than it does today! There is no tomorrow when you will get the perfect time to move forward. If you’re not doing it today you won’t be doing it tomorrow.
You know what you want from your life, and you’ve known all along. Write it down on top of a page and do something every day to achieve it. Never let a day go by without doing something, no matter how small it may be, and adding it to the list on that page. So you don’t have the resources and the energy and the time to make magic happen! Forget fate and stop shuffling the cards that life dealt you.
So life gave you lemons! So what?! Stop living on lemonade and start making lemon cheese cake. Start making lemon chicken. There are so many things you can do with what you have! Stop settling for what you have become, and start striving for who you want to be!
